CSE Accreditation Programme

The ESSD Accreditation for Screening and Clinical Swallow Evaluation for Oropharyngeal Dysphagia aims to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for doctors and allied health professionals to screen older and neurologic patients at risk for oropharyngeal dysphagia, to clinically evaluate their swallow and provide basic compensatory treatment for those with dysphagia. 

Its first edition will be held in Mataró, Barcelona on February 14-15.

-          Physical state: consciousness and cognition, respiration, heart rate, posture, (30 min)

11:00-11.45     Assessment of oropharyngeal  function: movement and sensory function  (exploration of cranial pairs)  

11:45-12:15     Oral Hygiene and dentition (30 min)

12:15-13:00     Hands on 1. Practice on physical examination in small groups (45 min)

14:00-15:00     Screening methods –aim and methods: Questionnaires- SSQ; Tests- V-VST, water test, (TORBSST-
